Marcos Ramirez is a California-based artist currently working in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work is deeply committed to and engaged with improvised communities, how they are formed, sustained, and expressed materially as well as spatially. His pieces are contingent, entangled in the time, place, and politics in which they were created.

Marcos aided in the formation of the Growlery and he currently has several Growlery-related art pieces in process. His forthcoming project is an installation responding to San Francisco's housing crisis vis-à-vis the sharing economy. It is intended to facilitate discourse between beneficiaries and opponents of the shareconomy.
